British lawyers may be sent to Rwanda as part of asylum plan, minister says

Lucy Frazer says government looking ‘very carefully’ at placing lawyers in country to address ‘processing issue’

British lawyers could be sent to Rwanda as part of a new treaty aimed at implementing Rishi Sunak’s plan to send asylum seekers to the African nation, a minister has confirmed.

James Cleverly, the home secretary, is understood to be close to finalising a treaty with Rwanda as part of the prime minister’s goal of making the plan legally watertight after the supreme court ruled it was unlawful.
